Attention Microsoft Teams users! 🌟
Did you know that in Microsoft Teams you have “templates” to be able to generate meetings and events more consistently and specifically depending on the purpose?
Well yes, a very interesting feature, which we have available for standard Teams accounts, but which we can customize and expand if we have a Teams Premium license (we will go into more detail about it in another post).
Likewise, an exciting transformation is taking place in how we host and experience virtual events. Microsoft Teams is evolving from “Live Events” to “Town Hall or Assemblies,” a new meeting mode that promises to take our virtual interactions to the next level. This transition will be completed on September 30, 2024, marking a milestone in the history of digital communications.
What does the Municipality bring us? 🏛️
Assemblies not only maintain the familiar characteristics of live events, but also introduce advanced functionality for large-scale, high-quality events. Imagine hosting a company-wide review or client meeting in an event environment optimized for high-quality products for both large and small audiences.
Comparison: live events vs. Town Hall 📊
- Capacity of participants: In both live events and assemblies, the capacity is 10 thousand participants, which expands to 20 thousand in Teams Premium.
- Simultaneous events: We can do up to 15 simultaneous events, which increases to 50 in Teams Premium.
- Duration of events: Events can last up to 30 hours, a vast improvement over the 4 hours of live events.
- Attendee reports, RTMP input, Q&A, on-demand recording, green room: All these features are available in both Live Events and Town Hall.
Participants’ experience 👥
Just like live events, town hall attendees can see moderators and participate in question-and-answer sessions. However, to minimize distractions and focus on the event, they will not be able to activate their microphones or cameras, or chat with other attendees.
Communications via Email 📧
Attendees will automatically receive email invitations and links to event recordings. In Teams Premium, organizers can further personalize these emails.
Subtitles translated live 🌐
A notable feature is the availability of live translated subtitles in multiple languages, broadening accessibility and understanding in a global environment.
Roles in events 🎭
The roles of organizer, co-organizer, producer, moderator and assistant will be clearly defined, with functionality similar to that of producers in Live Events.
Frequently asked questions❓
- When will live events be retired? September 30, 2024.
- Will I be able to watch recordings of live events after their retirement? Yes, until December 31, 2024. After that, be sure to download and save them in another location.
Conclusion ✨
This Microsoft Teams transition is more than a format change; It is an evolution towards a more dynamic, interactive and accessible way of organizing virtual events. Get ready to experience town halls in Microsoft Teams and take your virtual events to a new horizon of possibilities!
